Growatt configuration

Just got my hands on a solar growatt inverter + battery setup and I want to do configuration which I've never done before by the way but It's not my first time dealing with solar tech, thing now is that this system's menu layers and options feel a bit over engineered. I just want self consumption mode with grid support fallback, but there are a few settings like charge/discharge windows and EPS behavior that I want to dial in properly.
Has anyone been in this boat before?, cos it feels like I might emotional support and some help

Yeah, the Growatt menus can be a bit confusing. You should set it to Load First for using power at home and having grid backup. Adjust the charge and discharge times in the EMS settings. The EPS settings take care of how the backup works. Have you checked out the ShinePhone app? It really simplifies things. And don't forget to double-check your battery type setting

one tip from me, The EPS is the key to your backup. The main setting to look at is the EPS switchover time.
This is how long it takes for the system to switch from the grid to battery power in an outage. It's usually adjustable.
You should also check what devices are on that EPS circuit and test it to make sure it works as you expect. You can often simulate an outage by switching off your main breaker to see if the system takes over
