I’m planning to get a portable power station for camping trips and I’m stuck between Jackery and EcoFlow. Jackery looks simple but I heard EcoFlow charges faster. I also want to run a small fan and charge my phone overnight, Canl the smaller models handle that? Not sure if I need solar panels too. Any advice would be great!

You don’t need to go full solar setup unless you’re camping multiple days. A 300–500Wh power station will handle a phone, lights, and fan for a night or two. I’d grab a cheap foldable solar panel later if you find you’re running low mid-trip. No point overspending before you know your usage.

EcoFlow's main edge is AC charging speed. They often charge 0-80% in about an hour, while Jackery is reliable but slower from a wall outlet. For camping, I'd focus less on that speed and more on which unit feels better and has the capacity you need. I'm with @Even_Vexan that the sweet spot is the 300-500 Wh range. Models in this class are light enough to carry and have plenty of juice to run your small fan and charge your phone for a couple of nights without issue. I also agree about not overbuying until you know your actuual usage. So skip the solar panels for now. You won't need them for short trips if you charge before you leave. Only invest in a 100W panel later if you find your trips are longer and you consistently run out of power.

For occasional camping, the smaller models might do fine if you’re not running heavy gear. The main question’s whether you want to recharge with solar or stick to wall charging between trips. Anyone here tried keeping a 100W solar panel paired to one of these for weekend use?
