Using your power station as a UPS a good idea or long-term risk?

I’ve been using my EcoFlow River 2 as a mini UPS for my home router and modem setup since I work from home most days. It’s been rock-solid during those quick power blips we get here in Ohio, and I like knowing the Wi-Fi stays up even if the lights flicker. Curious if anyone else is doing the same and like if you’ve expanded beyond just networking gear. I’m thinking about testing it on my desktop or maybe a small monitor setup, but I’m not sure how well these portable stations handle constant pass-through power over time.

I’ve seen mixed results. The built-in UPS mode on most EcoFlows is quick, but not true zero-transfer like a dedicated UPS. If your desktop’s sensitive to even short interruptions, you might see it reboot. For networking gear, though? Totally worth it. I’ve been running mine for months with no issues.

it works fine as a UPS for light loads, but you’re right to be cautious. Those power stations aren’t really designed for always-on pass-through like a true UPS. Heat buildup and float charging can eat at battery longevity over time. If you keep it plugged in constantly, try to make sure it’s in a cool, ventilated spot like that helps a ton.
