What improved your system the most before cold weather?

Now that we are well into December and winter is settling in, I am curious about the year end tune ups people do on their off grid setups. Some systems act perfectly behaved and others start dropping hints that they want attention before the snow arrives.

If you have done a tune up in past years, which part made the biggest impact heading into winter? Could be wiring checks or battery balancing or cleaning something you forgot existed. What gave you the best payoff?

For me it was checking connections and cleaning things I usually ignore. Cold weather made small issues more noticeable, especially during heavier usage days. Tightening and cleaning ahead of time saved a lot of second guessing later. Peace of mind mattered more than anything this season.
