Trying to decide if I should keep my system in reserve or let it run eco

I’ve been debating whether to leave my home battery in eco mode or switch it to reserve now that the weather’s been all over the place here in Louisiana. We’ve had a mix of cloudy days and random power blips lately, and I can’t decide what’s smarter long-term. Eco mode saves a bit on the electric bill, but I’m worried it might leave me short if another outage hits.

What’s everyone else doing this time of year? Are you letting the system optimize automatically or keeping it in backup mode just in case? I’m curious if it actually makes a difference when you’ve got a few stormy weeks left before things settle down.

Eco mode’s great for savings, but with unpredictable weather, keeping a higher reserve might bring better peace of mind. Especially with how often Louisiana storms hit late in the season.

I usually switch between them depending on the forecast. If there’s rain or storms coming, I flip to reserve. Otherwise, I just let eco do its thing.

When the weather starts flipping around, I usually lock mine into reserve. Eco mode is great when the grid’s behaving, but the minute you get random blips, the tiny savings aren’t worth the stress. Having a chunk of battery ready feels a lot smarter than squeezing a few more pennies out of the utility bill.
