Tariffs and Home Batteries

Just my opinion, but, you know, all this talk about new tariffs on solar and batteries seems kind of irrelevant.

I just got a security camera that was labeled "Made in Vietnam." I peeled that label off and the plastic case underneath said "Made in China." Case closed.
I bet all these small goods will just get rerouted and relabeled, and the tariffs won't even apply.
But what about home batteries? Are they too big to get under the radar like a security camera?

Can a company just reroute a whole shipping container of batteries and call it good?
Will these tariffs actually affect the final price we pay for a home battery system, or is it just a bunch of noise? What do you guys think?

Home batteries are a different scale entirely. They are large, complex, and heavy products that are a lot more difficult to simply reroute and re-label without significant logistical effort and cost. And then, supply chain for batteries is also very specific with key materials and components often coming from a single country like China. So you see, even if the final assembly is done elsewhere, a large portion of the cost is still subject to the tariffs. It's not just a bunch of noise, it really is multiple industry reports confirm that tariffs on batteries leading to noticeable price increases for consumers.

Sure, while some shady stuff happens, home batteries are too controlled and vital to the grid to avoid tariffs. We're already seeing this hit prices in quotes and contracts.
