Ringing in 2026 on battery power

This year I’m planning to let the battery handle most of the night. Not because the grid’s unreliable right now, but more as a quiet test and a bit of peace of mind going into 2026.

Nothing fancy planned. Staying home, lights on, TV running, maybe checking the app once or twice just out of habit. It feels kind of satisfying knowing the system can carry the load without me worrying about it.

How’s everyone else ringing in the new year? Fully on battery, grid-powered, or some mix of both?

That’s a pretty satisfying way to ring in 2026. A quiet confidence test. Are you running it in self-powered mode all night or just letting it cover the evening peak?

We’ll probably do a mix. I love the idea of running mostly on battery, but I’m also not trying to turn New Year’s into a power management game. For our home battery, the fun part is realizing it can handle the normal loads without drama, then just letting it be.

That sounds like the most peaceful “test run” idea. I’d probably do a mix, let the home battery carry the easy loads and just watch how it behaves. Also I’d 100% check the app more than once even if I said I wouldn’t.
