Multiple charging sources on one battery bank

I’ve been wondering about the limits of running several independent charging sources at the same time, lets just say given everything is programmed correctly for the bank’s voltage. Like theoretically, if each source is set to the right voltages and charging profiles, they should play nicely together and just share the load, right? but just as a precaution, does it actually balance out smoothly, or do some sources end up fighting each other

in theory, they’ll all behave if the voltages line up, but theory doesn’t account for drift or sensing lag. Even a small voltage difference makes one source back off while another overworks. It’s not usually dangerous, but it’s messy unless you’ve got a master controller handling priorities.

I’ve done this with solar plus generator charging. It works as long as they share the same voltage targets and you don’t exceed the max input current for the bank. But yeah... “multiple chargers” sounds smoother than it really is and one usually ends up leading the dance.
