HS Energy and battery to grid export

Hi, I've recently had panels and batteries fitted by HS Energy. Panels and battery work fine, my problem is with battery to grid trading. I was told that a piece of tech attached to the batteries learns my patterns of usage and monitors price and trades excess energy in half hourly increments. This is supposed to be done without my involvement. I'm on the Octopus agile tariff for import and export. Battery goes up to 100% each day, but none is automatically exported to the grid, it only does this if i manually put in an instruction, but then seems to take more than instructed, does not buy in the early hours when cheap, and i end up paying more for electric the next day before the panels get gong. Ideas?

With agile tariffs, the system should be learning your usage and timing trades to match cheap import/export windows and if it’s not exporting automatically or mis-timing purchases, it’s probably a configuration issue or a software bug

sounds like HS Energy’s system still struggles with the Agile tariff timing. Some people said it doesn’t “learn” fast enough, so it keeps holding charge instead of selling it off. I’d probably ask HS Energy support to check if your optimizer’s connected to Octopus’s latest API update.

It sounds like the control algorithm isn’t syncing correctly with your tariff timing or data feed. Some systems need a few weeks of pattern learning before trading kicks in fully. Has anyone here noticed whether the HS Energy controller updates or requires calibration to work with agile tariffs?
