Now that the days are getting shorter here in Connecticut, I’ve started leaning on the grid a bit more like mostly charging the battery overnight when rates are low, then switching back to solar during the day. It feels like a good way to stretch my storage and avoid draining the battery too deeply when production’s weak. Curious if anyone else is doing something similar? I’m wondering if it’s worth fine-tuning the charge schedule more like maybe set the inverter to pull from the grid only when state of charge drops below a certain point. Have you seen any long-term difference in battery health or overall costs running that kind of hybrid setup?
