FlexBoss21 reliability

I'm debating a big expense for a little bit of peace of mind. I've got a critical loads panel for my well pump, fridge, and some other essentials, all running on my FlexBoss21 setup.
I could spend about $800 on a fancy 3 pole transfer switch for an easy bypass to the grid if the FlexBoss ever goes down.
The alternative is to just rewire it manually, which I've already set up to be a pretty quick job.

Is that peace of mind worth the $800? Or should I just trust that the FlexBoss will be reliable and deal with the hassle if it ever fails?
Are there any less expensive, but still convenient, manual transfer switches that would be a good compromise between a full rewire and an $800 switch?

Honestly, I'd skip the $800 transfer switch and stick with your quick manual rewire setup. If the FlexBoss fails (which isn't common if it's well maintained), rewiring for a few minutes of downtime isn't the end of the world. You could also look into a less expensive manual transfer switch or a simpler 2 pole grid bypass panel to make things even smoother without dropping that kind of cash

If your manual setup is already quick and safe, $800 might be overkill just for convenience. There are smaller, single or double pole manual transfer switches that cost a fraction of that and still make switching easier without rewiring each time

$800 buys peace of mind and fewer 2am wiring decisions when things go sideways.
