Can one battery really power a whole home with lots of devices?

I keep seeing companies advertise that “one battery can power your whole home,” but for a family loaded with digital devices, I don’t buy it. We’re in Oklahoma where outages happen, and between PCs, gaming consoles, TVs, WiFi, and the usual appliances, a single battery seems like it would drain way too fast. Has anyone here actually managed whole-home backup on one unit? Or do you end up having to ration and shut off half the house just to make it through? I’d like to hear from real users though... is one battery ever truly enough for a tech-heavy household, or is that just marketing fluff?

You're right to be skeptical, especially as someone in Oklahoma! One standard battery is almost never enough for a tech-heavy household. It's designed for Critical Loads Backup, meaning your fridge, a few lights, and your Wi-Fi and router to get you through a few hours. Your PCs, gaming consoles, and multiple TVs are major power users. Trying to run all that will drain a single unit in half a day, forcing you to ration heavily. To run a whole home or even just your full critical loads list, including your digital devices and perhaps occasional AC bursts, you'll likely need a system of two or three batterie. That's the reality for reliable, multi-day backup without constant worry!

Got a family of five and tried using one 10 kWh battery during a storm last year. It kept the fridge, WiFi, and a few lights going for about 12 hours, but we had to shut down the gaming stuff and laundry. What size battery are you looking at?

It's 99% marketing fluff, haha. cause it's not the whole home if you only run the fridge and a few light bulbs, right. Two batteries are the entry ticket for 'no stress' backup, three if you want to run the AC for an hour or two
